Wind can’t blow away the smiles

The Mitchell’s Plain Titans Athletic Club has a reason to smile after a successful road race on Saturday morning.

The league race, now in his ninth year, has become a favourite with running clubs as the distances of 5km, 10km and 21km cater for serious and runners.

The race started and finished at the Rocklands Sports Complex. Participants who finished the race all received medals.

Support for organising club Titans was boosted when Proteas cricketer JP Duminy and his project team, JP21, came on board to promote the race.

The gale force south-easterly wind did not blow away spirits on the day as the race took the runners through the suburb of Rocklands, its surrounds as well the beachfront.

The route is generally flat, which lends itself to good times for most of the runners.
