24.com receives top digital publishing recognition with 2012 Bookmarks nominations.

Last night the Bookmarks Committee announced the 2012 nominees at an event at 15 on Orange in Cape Town.  24.com’s cutting edge publishing excellence resulted in 10 submissions making the grade.  

In the Core Awards cluster in the category of Websites/Microsites/Mobisites, 24.com received the following 6 nominations:
1.    Publisher sites with mass appeal and at least a R5million turnover, the nominees are Food24, News24 and Sport24.

2.    Specialist publisher sites (smaller, niche audiences with less than a R5million turnover per annum), the nominees are Channel24 and Parent24.

3.    m.news24.com has been nominated as best publisher mobile site.

In the category of Applications and Tools:
1.    News24’s iPad app is nominated as best tablet publication.

As Integrated / Mixed Media:
2.    News24 is nominated as the best multi-platform publisher.

And finally the News24 editorial team has been shortlisted as the Best Editorial Team in the Individual and Team Awards while 24.com is in the Special Honours category for Best Publishing House.

24.com has always been a top contender at the Bookmarks and recent wins include: The Best Publishing House Special Honour Award last year as well as Bronze for Channel24 and Silver for Food24, News24 and Health24 in the publisher category; in the Mobile Site Publisher category - Bronze for m.news24.com; in the Handheld/Phone (applications and tools) category - Silver for News24 and in the Multi-Platform Publisher category they received Bronze for News24.
