  • Cap de l'Homy, France

Set in the Bay of Biscay, only 400 meters from super white sandy beaches, Cap de l'Homy is a municipal campsite rife with shady spots and awesome nature. The site is set back behind the dunes in the forest of Lit-et-Mixe which, like the coast, goes on for miles. It's also a popular surfing spot.

  • Green Point Campground, Pacific Rim National Reserve, Canada

While it may not look as attractive as a tropical island paradise, Green Point is located right on a fascinating stretch of Pacific coastline. It's located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and just about as rustic as you get, with no cooking or shower facilities. Photo:

  • Elands Bay, West Coast, South Africa

SA is full of awesome campgrounds, many of which are located close to or next to the beach. However, few are as pristine as Elands Bay on the West Coast. Milkwood trees punctuate the sandy spots in the campsite, and a silver white beach stretches out from the first row of campsites.
