2012-10-18 13:08

Cape Town – 8ta unveiled its free in-cab Wi-Fi initiative on Thursday at an event in Sandton.

8ta said there are 150 Wi-Fi-enabled cabs that operate across Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

Passengers need to check their device settings, ensure their Wi-Fi is enabled, and then select the “8ta Wi-Fi hotspot”.

While in the cabs, passengers will have full internet connectivity, including web-browsing, e-mail and access to social networks. The Wi-Fi in the cabs is compatible with all Wi-Fi-enabled devices regardless of whether passengers have smartphones, laptops or tablets.

Dude, I totally feel ya. I have the 8ta 60+60 gig deal and thought all my data needs are catered for, until I travel. I really hate that quite a number of places in SA still dont have 3G and with a data sim, there's no other way of connecting.
