After a toddler accidentally fell into a concrete borehole, this heroic teen volunteered to rescue the little girl.

Fourteen-year-old Wang Minran, from China’s central Henan province, agreed to be sent down the 30-metre well to rescue the child, who was running out of oxygen fast.

The unidentified child was trapped about halfway down, with one hand above her and the other below.

According to rescuers, an oxygen tube had been lowered into the well to prevent her from suffocating but she still struggled to breathe.

Teenage Wang Minran, who was the perfect fit for the narrow 20-cm opening, even though the toddler’s father volunteered to rescue her first, reached the girl moments before she ran out of air.

Authorities made six attempts before they could successfully rescue the girl, who’d become faint from the well.

When Wang was finally able to secure a rescue harness under her arms, he pulled her back to the surface.

The girl was taken to hospital where she was confirmed not to be in any life-threatening condition.
