ON Sunday, 24 May at 12.30pm, the body of a black male, identified as Sphihli Khumalo, was found underneath the N2 freeway next to the Doonside off-ramp.

“Members of Amanzimtoti SAPS responded to a complaint of a dead body underneath the bridge. On their arrival, the deceased was pointed out by a friend who indicated that the deceased always slept under the bridge. The deceased was found by him, dressed in a green T-shirt and red underpants with no visible injuries. The cause of death is unknown at present,” Captain Charlene van der Spuy said.

According to the friend, the deceased had no next of kin. He was taken to the Park Rynie Mortuary. SAPS would appreciate any assistance in finding his next of kin.- Supplied
