A RECENT campaign run by Animaltalk magazine, Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures raised funds nationwide for animal organisations and shelters.

The national premier screening of Max was in aid of Riga Rescue, BVFD K9 Search and Rescue Unit and Amanzimtoti SPCA. Participants arrived with bags of donations at the three venues as they were treated to a night out with the family.

The Johannesburg venue raised R2 400, with eight trolleys filled with various items. Cape Town’s Tyger Valley branch sported three trolleys filled with donations and an additional R1 140 raised. The Galleria branch brought in donations as well as R485 in cash.

The Animaltalk team thanked everyone who supported this initiative in an effort to assist the selected beneficiaries.

Some of the comments from the evening: “I want to thank you for the opportunity for my family and I to watch the movie Max last night at Galleria Mall. It was awesome and we enjoyed it a lot.” - Wilhelmien Nel.

“Thank you for a really good movie, cried the whole way through, and the lovely experience.” - Caroline Maloney.
