RENÉ Otto (86), accompanied by her daughter and grandson to the Nissan showroom at Galleria, was ecstatic to receive a new wheelchair from the Mark White Nissan team - Erwin Vermaak, Travis Clarke and Carol Matthews.

René fell while gardening and had to have a hip operation.

She doesn’t own a wheelchair and this is where the Nissan team came in.

“Our goal is to give away one wheelchair a month. It is our way of giving back to the community - a social responsibility,” said Vermaak.

This is the second wheelchair Nissan has given someone from the community.

Renee lives with daughter Dricky Myburgh and grandson Ronnie Myburgh.

“This is the first time in three months sheand#039;s going to the shops.

“This wheelchair will allow her to do things sheand#039;s been unable to do, especially since she enjoys being ou side,” said Ronnie.

The wheelchairs are supplied by Prime Care, Cape Town.
