FRIDAY morningand#039;s coffee ride was cold enough for everyone to be deceived into believing that winter had finally arrived, but the rest of the weekend weather was particularly warm, once again. On Saturday morning, a large number of mountain bikers met at the Illovo grass patch to do some hard riding. Two groups of different strengths set out to do the Two Rivers route, a fun track, with plenty of hills thrown in. About 40kms was covered, with more or less 1000m of climbing. The ride was made just that much harder, by the howling wind that riders had to pedal against. These two groups had an excellent training ride, while the Fattis and Monis group did a shorter route with a lot of fun built in.

Sunday saw 30 Toti Cycle Club members and family meet at Bikeandamp;Bean on Durbanand#039;s promenade to do a social 20km family ride to uShaka and back to the bird park, returning to Bikeandamp;Bean for coffee and breakfast. A few of the roadies and mountain bikers chose to do a fast ride there from Toti and got those few extra kilometres into their legs. The promenade is a great way to do a nice, relaxed ride and the Bikeandamp;Bean does magnificent coffee and good food. - Supplied
