JKA Africa champions

SENSEI James Pretorius and Sensei Michael Thompson from Rising Sun JKA Karate Academy competed in the JKA Africa Cup in Johannesburg at the Standard Bank Arena recently.

It was a historical event because eight countries competed in this first event of its kind. The countries were South Africa, Egypt, Congo, DRC, Kenya, Angola, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Sensei James Pretorius won gold in the team kumite event, while Sensei Michael Thompson won gold in the individual kata event. Both are third Dan black belts. - Supplied.
