A MAN is in a critical condition after a rear-end collision on the N2 north near the Seadoone on-ramp on Friday at around 8am. “Netcare 911 paramedics found that a bakkie had veered off the road after impact and slammed into the concrete culvert on the side of the road. The driver was still in the vehicle with life-threatening injuries. The occupants from the other vehicle were uninjured,” said Chris Botha, Netcare 911 media liaison officer.

After the patient was extricated from the vehicle and stabilised, they airlifted the patient to a specialised hospital in Durban.

Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment. - Supplied
