INTERNATIONAL model, Jay d’Engle and his partner, Lenge Kotze presented a boot-camp workshop to share modelling tips and insight into the international modelling field last weekend. Ex-Toti resident d’Engle returned to South Africa after successful series of modelling contracts in Thailand, China, Turkey and Milan.

“The international modelling world is highly competitive, and I was unprepared to face the challenges of working with international agents and photographers. “When I first began modelling, I had to learn to be resilient and determined because inexperienced models can be taken advantage of on many levels. I wanted to share my knowledge with local models and agencies, and help young models increase their confidence. It’s always been my dream to share my knowledge in a constructive format,” d’Engle said.

Lenge Kotze, Miss Bikini Fitness 2012, a performing arts world champion in dancing and pageantry 2008, MAC make-up artist, shared her knowledge of make-up techniques, fashion tips and stressed the importance of understanding the international modelling world and trend analysis.

“I gained much experience and confidence when travelling around Europe and America on the competition and pageantry circuit,” she said

“We wanted the workshop to be informative and entertaining, and we were amazed at the whole-hearted participation by all the models that attended. The workshop begins with an international casting, and includes photo-shoots by local photographer, Jean-Marc George.

“Models are given tips on posing, posture and image building, and the interactive exercises give them the opportunity to practice what they have learnt,” said d’Engle.
