PORSCHE has created a special editions of its 911 Carrera and Boxster - they’re called the Black Edition.

Clad in black paintwork and sporting a, you guessed it, a black interior, Porsche says the emphasis is on “the timeless, classy elegance of its sports cars”.

The Black editions are equipped with Porsche’s Communication Management (PCM) with satnav, auto dimming rear-view mirror, rain sensor, cruise control and new steering wheel.

The 911 Carrera Black Edition is powered by a 3.4-litre flat six engine capable of 257kW. It’s available in either coupe or convertible guise and rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The special edition is fitted with 20” 911 Turbo alloy rims and sports new LEDs. Its black interior has heatable front seats and standard Bose surround-sound audio.

Park Assist is available (front and rear), which includes a reversing camera.

The Boxster Black Edition is equipped with a mid-engine 2.7-litre flat six capable of 195kW.

Its soft-top and rollover protection bar are finished in black.

It has 20” Carrera Classic alloy rims and bi-xenons with Porsche’s Dynamic Light System (PDLS) along with new highlights. Inside it has dual-aircon and heatable sports seats. The Boxster Black Edition is fitted with the automaker’s Sound Package Plus system.

All five Black Edition models were available for order of 19 May. Local pricing has yet to be announced.
