AMANZIMTOTI Saps affected 86 arrests between 2 and 22 July. The arrests included one attempted murder and carjacking, one drunken driving, 33 shoplifting, two grievous bodily harm assaults, a kidnapping, five common robberies, eight possession of whoonga, four possessions of cannabis and two arrests for possession of suspected stolen property. Further arrests made were four for theft, one for fraud, five for residential breaking, one attempted housebreaking, malicious damage to property, rape, three for dealing in liquor, one for overloading, four arrests for possession of shad, one for fishing without a permit, five cases of breach of peace and two for reckless and negligent driving.

Recoveries made during the same period include three motor vehicles, 11 straws of whoonga, 11 slopes of dagga, one Nike tee, four cellphones, a Lumen flash light, an amplifier, an LG DVD player, jewellery, a firearm, a Minolta­ camera, a Samsung camera and a fishing reel. - Supplied
