THERE are two fund-raisers on the cards for SPCA Amanzimtoti.

Potjiekos competition

The SPCA is hosting a potjiekos competition and family fun day on 25 July. Get your entry form from the SPCA. The event is from 10am to 5pm. Entrance is R50 per pot. The winner gets R1 000, the runners-up will take R500 home.

Christmas in July

SPCA will be hosting its second Christmas on 31 July with a Christmas dinner at Lords and Legends. Tickets are R150 per person, with a cash bar.

“We have 100 tickets to sell so please pop into our offices at 1 Nyati Road Athlone Park or contact us on 031 904 2424/5 to make your booking via EFT.

“The idea is to buy a toy or blanket for the animals in our care for Christmas,” SPCA PRO Michele Hannan said.

On offer is a two-course meal. The main course is rare roast beef with wholegrain mustard and fresh garlic, roasted chicken with fresh rosemary or vegetable lasagne, a garden salad and cocktail rolls. For dessert enjoy Malva pudding with fresh cream.

A DJ will be there for entertainment and will host a Christmas quiz. There will also be plenty of raffles on the go.

“We are only selling tickets up until the end of next week, as we need numbers for catering purposes. The public can phone through and book tickets and we can give them the banking details so they can do an EFT,” Hannan said.
