TOTI Athletics Club had a great turn-out on Sunday’s “Durban Runner”. Runners could do a 10km or a 21km. The route offered some challenging climbs and great downhill sections where runners could make up lost time. Well done to Durban runner Zane for organising a great new race enjoyed by all. Thanks to Chris and Belinda for making the vegetable soup. Well done to all who ran their first 10km on the day.

Congratulations to Ewoud Grobler for making the KZN marathon team for the SA champs in Port Elizabeth. Lawrence and Carly also completed the Durban Ironman - this is a great achievement.

A reminder that the first Wednesday of every month - this month being 5 August - is a bring-and-braai. After the time trails family and friends are welcome. Please remember to bring your reflector belt for the run.

The bus leaving for the bush run in Mtunzini will collect athletes on Saturday at 9am. The club wishes all its runners a great weekend and run in Mtunzini. This year’s Mtunzini bush run has undergone an interesting update - a section of the golf course has been replaced by an awesome trail through the beautiful Zini River Estate where it reverts to familiar territory through natural forest and a raphia palm board walk into the nature reserve, along the beach and then onto the freshly cut trails that lead back to the finish at the club house.

Toti is hosting the cross-country over the weekend at Hutchison Park on 9 August. We encourage all runners to help and run on the day. If you can help, contact Des van der Merwe

The morning run will start on 1 September at 4.30am from the club.

The club tent will be at the Merewent 10km on 16 August. Members are encouraged to support our 10km club champs. This is a great fast and flat course.

The Capital Climb this year, in addition to celebrating its 40th anniversary, is pleased to announce it will also incorporate the first leg of the newly launched king and queen of the mountain series.
