KINGSBURGH Child and Family Welfare is focusing on improving the safety of pre-school children by providing pre-school and crèche teachers with first-aid skills.

On Thursday and Friday 10 and 11 September, 17 pre-school teachers attended the third of several accredited first-aid courses offered at the organisation. Training was conducted by Sapphire Health Training and is an AECI- sponsored initiative.

The course is an essential service that can save the lives of children, especially children suffering from life-threatening diseases such as Aids.

Teachers wanting to attend a future course can phone the Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare on 031 916 2274 (office hours from 8am to 12pm).
