KINGSBURGH Child and Family Welfare Society’s art competition is in full swing. More than 1000 pictures were collected from schools and crèches last week and all the pictures are on display at Seadoone Mall until 5 October.

Entries are judged by the Upper South Coast Art Society and winners will be announced at the mall on Saturday, 3 October at 12pm. In each category three prizes are awarded - first, second and third and a “highly commended” honour.

The competition is part of the organisation’s fund-raising campaigns. This year its celebrates 70 years of serving the community and the theme for the competition is “Let’s celebrate”.

Another method of fund-raising for the organisation is selling clothes and white elephant items in its thrift shop. Welfare thanks the community for their generous support in donating goods-in-kind this month
