THE Upper South Coast Art Association is delighted to welcome Julia Forman to Amanzimtoti on Saturday, 16 January, who will demonstrate painting in acrylics.

“Living in Durban, the sunniest part of South Africa, I am privileged to be surrounded constantly by contrast - in the people, the landscape, the colours. It is these elements that inspire me to wield the brush and I do so, sometimes with vigour and speed, other times in quiet serenity,” abstract representational artist, Guilia Forman said.

“I strive to paint the 'smell' of flowers and the sheer joy they bring. My work can be found in galleries in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Clarens and around Durban and I exhibit annually at Art in the Park and the Hilton Arts Festival. Whatever I choose to paint, the constant is there … contrast … for this is the drama of life,” she added.

The demonstration will take place at 2pm at the Activities Centre, Toti Library. The public is welcome and cost is R25 per person, which includes tea.
