Toti Trail Run

The Toti Trail Run was an phenomenal success thanks to the support that Amanzimtoti Sports Centre (ASC) received from runners who participated and the family and friends who came to support them in the wet and muddy conditions. The run was not for sissies and we would like to thank Toti for their support.

ASC will be hosting a trail run-MTB race every quarter with a different theme, day, night, time, for different ages so watch the press and social media for details (see AmanzimtotiSports Centre Facebook page).

The runs-walks are geared for a great time spent with family and friends.

Details from the Toti Trail Run

Planning started in March and we had a total of 201 entries - the youngest was a baby, who was carried by her mom on her back. Then there was a six year old and the oldest was 84.

Conditions were muddy and the course took runners and walkers through the Ilanda Wilds trails that have been closed for many years.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who made the day a success. They were responsible for cleaning litter constantly from the trails, which was a never ending task - as soon as one lot was cleared another was dumped. Building a total of five bridges in just under two weeks to ensure safe passage through a forgotten area and clearing the trails and ensuring that the forest and natural environment remained as natural as possible.

Amanzimtoti Sports Centre is committed to providing the best possible facilities in a secure and clean environment.

Photos from the race will be loaded on to the web page and the Amanzimtoti SportsCentre
Facebook page.

A big thank you also to businesses and people who sponsored prizes for the participants.
