Amanzimtoti Tennis Club news

There was a great turn-out for social tennis on Saturday even though we are restricted to three courts.

Players are being very co-operative and the duty members greatly appreciate it. Not too long now and we’ll be playing on our super refurbished courts.

The Sandra Cup Tournament will be held on Saturday 18 February. Please check the notice board for details and the list to enter your name should you wish to participate.

There are two Valentine’s tennis tournaments happening, for the midweek ladies Glenashley are having their annual tournament on Wednesday 15 February and Mitchell Park Tennis Club will be holding a mixed doubles tournament on Saturday 18 February.

Notices with all the details are on the notice board.

Our development clinic for primary school children has commenced for the first school term.

If your child shows an interest in learning to play tennis, bring them down to the courts on Saturday mornings from 9am to 10am. Madi and Gabriel are on hand to show the children how it’s done.

Tennis racquets are available and children should ideally wear tennis type shoes. Get well wishes to Laurence who has had a shoulder operation.

Toti United Football Club

Toti United FC is calling on prospective soccer players between the ages of six to 17 to join the club.

Training commences on 14 February at Hutchinson Park Soccer Grounds (top field). Training days are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm. All your child needs to bring is his or her own soccer ball, boots and shin pads.

Pre-season training will run until the season starts at the end of April.

Toti United is affiliated with all Safa structures so all ages groups will be included into the official Durban leagues with league games played on Sundays.

For details, please call Carol on 071 254 5146.
