EQUIPPED to Serve (ETS) and Africa Cares hosted a counselling training course on Thursday, 23 June at Lionsgate Church.

The training course covered the seven fundamentals of Christian Crisis Counselling - speak the truth in love, be ministers not manipulators, everyone is sending out an SOS, the four qualities of an effective helper, the five communication skills, the six phases of a crisis and the six steps to crisis intervention.

This course was aimed at enhancing counselling techniques and at equipping people to understand others in crisis. Equipped to Serve is endorsed by Africa Cares as a best practice lay counselling methodology, suitable for counselling ministry.

This course is accredited by the Council for Counsellors South Africa and is offered on request.
