TWO vehicles collided when one car was slowing down to avoid a sinkhole on the N2 near the Adams Road off-ramp last Wednesday night.
According to Netcare 911 paramedics reports from the scene indicate that a vehicle was slowing down at the sinkhole when it was rear ended by another vehicle.
The sinkhole on the N2 had worsened as a result of the recent floods.
“Paramedics found a 15-year-old-girl and a 10-year-old boy from the front vehicle had sustained injuries. The girl had serious injuries while the boy escaped with minor injuries. Nobody else was injured in the collision,” said Netcare 911 paramedic, Chris Botha.
Paramedics stabilised the girl in the front passenger seat and then immobilised her on a trauma board before removing her from the vehicle.
Medics transported both patients to hospital. - Supplied.
