ON Monday, 28 December, 2015, a suspect was arrested for possession of dagga during a combined operation in the Athlone Park area.

“At about 11am Amanzimtoti SAPS members Warrant Officer Ciko Myeza and Constable Bongani Ngcobo attached to the Umlazi K9 Unit, Shawn Jooste of Metro Police, Ashley Naidoo and John Hauser of ET Response Unit arrested the suspect, who was found inside the bushes in Station Road rolling and packaging dagga,” said Amanzimtoti SAPS PRO, Captain Charlene van der Spuy.

Van der Spuy said 896 grams of dagga consisting of 110 small, 10 medium, four large plastic bank packets, 14 slopes and one parcel with the street value of about R600 was recovered.

The suspect, Sbusiso Nodada (53) was charged with possession of dagga and appeared in Amanzimtoti Court on 29 December, 2015. The case was postponed for further investigation to 2 February.
