COMING from all walks of life, Creative Heartz SA is a group of seven people who have been brought together by their love of dance.

The members of the group are Farren Lee Hutchinson, Ntuthuzelo Grootboom, Gerand Petersen, Linda Ndlovu, Lindsley Augustine, Rushay Stewarts and Craig Katts who said they have achieved a lot as individuals but they thought coming together would have more impact on society.

They said they all met through dance but never thought of forming a crew until last year.

“Dancing is actually what brought us together. Originally, the whole idea of Creative Heartz was a lot of different entities coming together and creating one professional crew that would create dance videos for youtube and do gigs for events,” said Ndlovu.

“We also wanted to create a platform for the younger generation to see what we are doing and to follow in our footsteps.”

He said that often children are ashamed to follow their passion and instead get into habits such as drug and alcohol abuse, etc. “Dance is a way to keep children off the streets and gives them a way to express themselves,” said Hutchinson.

Ndlovu said they all attended dance academies and their crew caters for all dance genres.

“We can perform in ballet, contemporary, Latin and ballroom, however, our many focus is hip-hop.

In Durban, hip-hop is not a thing, but contemporary and ballet are more appreciated.

“We have managed to break that barrier by bringing in hip-hop to the co-operate world,” said Hutchinson.

They said they have worked with Sands from Swaziland, Khaya Mthethwa and a group called Eezy Freaks.

“We have also choreographed for other artists and people can look out for us because we still have a lot to offer,” said Hutchinson.
