ETHEKWINI libraries are planning the following initiatives for the 2015/16 financial year:

• Youth unemployment and business corner initiative: This exercise aims to facilitate a platform where local business and/or employers can advertise positions or where information can be harvested of people who are seeking employment. Further to which it facilitated research facilities for job seekers, coupled with assistance from staff to comprise CVs, etc.

• Book seminar: An invitation to all authors - whether published or not - to participate in debate and information- sharing at Amanzimtoti library at the end of January 2016. Registration closes at the end of this month. An invitation is further extended to publishers to attend and acquaint with new talent.

• One city one book: The book selected for the next quarter is Last Rhino by Anthony Lawrence. Information on activities that are associated with the exercise and registration to participate can now be done through the nearest library.

• Lions Club upgrade, Hall Road, Warner beach: With limited funding approved, renovations have commenced towards converting the Lions Club at 2 Hall Road in Warner Beach into an activities room for the Kingsburgh Library.
While discussion is being led with relevant departments towards landscaping the old Strelitizia hall and Lions Club sites, we invite community initiated participation as part of the larger Warner Beach node community driven upliftment initiative.
