KHANYA Hospice welcomed volunteer Charlotte van de Warenburg from a small town called Nieuwebegin, near Utrecht in the Netherlands.

Van de Warenburg works as a shop assistant in Netherlands and decided she needs to “spread her wings”.

When the opportunity arose, she decided South Africa is the place and more so, Khanya Hospice in Umkomaas will be where she will assist.

This is her first visit to South Africa and she loves what she saw from the airport to Umkomaas. When she left the Netherlands it was bitterly cold and she is loving the warm weather.

If you who would like to take her on a sight-seeing tour or invite her to a traditional South African meal, contact Hospice.

She will also be joined by Laura another volunteer this month.

Hospice offers free palliative nursing care to people with life-threatening diseases and offers support to their families. People who would like to volunteer in one of the Hospice shops must contact 083 597 8985 or email hospice@scottnet.co.za
