Infringing on parents’ rights

2016-02-24 06:00

HITTING someone across the face using one’s fist and hitting with a whip or stick can be construed as abuse and the human rights organisations are justified in intervening.

However, a smack on the rump or hand of an errant child is, in my opinion, perfectly acceptable, and making a smack illegal is infringing on the rights of responsible parents who wish to discipline their children in a firm but loving manner.

A point to ponder - quite a few animals species give their errant offspring cuffs with no apparent effects.
