AT Amanzimtoti High School, we pride ourselves in instilling sound morals and values within a disciplined and nurturing environment for our learners. With passionate, purposeful well-qualified educators, we can assure a well-balanced environment for your child. Our mission is to produce ethical, independent and responsible individuals who will contribute positively to society.

We are extremely proud of our 2017 matric results. We obtained a 97% pass rate that places us as one of the top achieving schools in our community, resulting in us being awarded a certificate of excellence for our outstanding NSC results.

A total of eight of our pupils achieved an “A” aggregate and we are only looking to grow these numbers for 2018. Our science laboratories are also currently being renovated to offer our pupils the full experience of being in a well-equipped lab.

Our high school has bred some world changers that have been constantly shining South Africa’s flag worldwide, including swimming Olympic gold medalist Penny Heyns and Professor Archie Marvelous. With our advanced Sports Academy, AHS has managed to find a balance between academics and sports in the school. We don’t shy away from the arts and we pride ourselves on our annual musical.

This year’s play, Let’s go fly a kite, is based on the story of Mary Poppins as told by Jane Banks. It will run from Monday, April 16 until Friday, April 20. In 2017 the musical cast won first place in the Durban All Stars Competition, performing songs from their sold-out production, A Night at theProms. An AHS production is not only about the talent on stage but also includes a talented backstage crew of learners mastering the art of sound and light engineering, stage design and stage management.

AHS is fortunate enough to be able to offer a holistic approach to education by offering a wide range of extra-mural activities where we encourage our pupils to participate in these team building activities that also equip them in being able to work with people.

Producing some of the country’s top sportsmen and sportswomen, we have a wide variety of activities and facilities that accommodate our dedicated sporting learners with an in-house, fully equipped gym and personal trainer that is open for all our learners in the mornings and after school to train and keep healthy.
