Join the ‘Christmas challenge’

THE Illovo Sugar 15km Christmas Challenge, hosted by Westville Athletic Club, takes place on Sunday, December 10 at 6am, starting and finishing at the clubhouse on the corner of Maryvale and Syringa roads, Westville.

Pre-entries close at midnight on December 5 and cost R90. Late entries can be done on Saturday, December 9 from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday, the day of the race, from 5am to 6am. Costs are R100.

Free entry to over 65s (proof of age required). Temporary licences cost R20 for non-registered club members.

Prize money will be paid to the top three in all main age categories and T-shirts will be given to the first 2000 in the sub-two hours and 30 minute cut-off time.

Trophies will be allocated to the first men’s and first women’s team, the first minibus for the fastest team, a minimum of 10 runners finishing within 30 seconds of each other, the London Bus Trophy for the friendliest, best dressed and original bus, plus lucky draw prizes. Prize giving is at 8.45am.

The race is run under the rules of IAAF, ASA and KZNA.
