Karl Marx remembered

2016-03-30 06:00

KARL Marx (1818-1883) died on 14 March, 1883.

At Highgate cemetery in England, his stone monument and his mortal remains lie.

It was for the workers and the working-class movement that Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote Das Kapital — hence “workers of the world unite”,

not for the capitalist class or the bourgeois class or the upper middle-class.

Just as classical economics may be called the businessperson’s economics because in it the businessperson could find aid and comfort, so the economics of Marx may be called the workers’ economics because in it workers could find their important place in the scheme of things and could derive hope for the future.
