ALL roads will be leading to the Enchanted Garden on November 25 when Isipingo soccer outfit, the Isipingo Legends host their banquet and awards evening.

It is going to be a walk down memory lane with lots of pomp and razzmatazz according to “Mr Soccer” and CEO, Ronnie Vengan.

Exco members Derrick Naidoo, Ben Govender, Ronnie Vengan, Kumaren Arnajallum, Bull Govender Norman Naicker, Tariq Khan Ravi, Sega Moonsamy and chairman Mark Gounder are leaving no stone unturned in making this an evening to remember.

Community leader Ganny Govender will be guest of honour.

Govender has lifted the spirits of the underprivileged of Isipingo with his wonderful charity work.

The Legends surpassed expectations in their first year in the KZN over-50 league, which is uncompromising and competitive.

After losing to Durban Central in their first match, Legends grew from strength to strength to register victories over KwaMashu, Umlazi, Maritzburg and Durban Central in the second round.

Legends played their last game against Reservoir Hills at home recently. It was a must-win game for Reservoir Hills to clinch the league, but Legends were not in a charitable mood. This clash was bound to produce fireworks as both teams boast top players who want to finish the season on a high. After being down 1-0 in the first half, Legends came back fighting in the second half to clinch victory, thus denying Reservoir Hills the league title.

This “catch-up” victory against a formidable Reservoir Hills team augurs well for the future of Isipingo football.
