THE University of Cape Town, Department of Environmental and Geographical Science, asks the public, who walk along the beach, to be on the lookout for anything which might resemble debris from the missing aircraft.
They are asked to photograph it and then alert the nearest police station and the SA Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA). Experts working on the debris found recently confirmed it to be from the missing Malaysian plane flight MH370 which went missing on 8 March, 2014 and have stated there have been four finds of floating debris that have either been confirmed or are considered highly likely to be from MH370.
For instance the Boeing 7772H6ER aircraft registered as 9M-MRO, was found in Mauritius, Mozambique and Mossel Bay.

It may be anticipated that more discoveries of possible fragments of the aircraft could be made in the coming months, spread over the shores of the western Indian Ocean including the KwaZulu-Natal coastline.

The support of the marine science communities and the public in efforts to find debris from this plane will be greatly appreciated.
