THURSDAY, 2 March marked the 154th birthday of Maritzburg College, the oldest boys’ school in KZN. While for some boys and teachers who pass through its doors it remains a mere school, to so many others - in many cases now dotted around the world - it remains a source of great pride, a fount of lasting friendships, loyalties and memories, an enduring symbol of excellence, and a lifelong inspiration.

To so many, it is no mere school.
