THE Official Opening of the MTB XCO Track at Hutchison Park, Amanzimtoti, took place on Sunday, June 3, with Sapphire Coast Tourism proudly flying the flags in support of the event.

It was a great day with many keen mountain bikers enjoying the eight-kilometre country and forest track alongside the Toti River with 11 Bridges and Switchbacks.

Romy Wenzel, Sapphire Coast Tourism chairperson, congratulated the Amanzimtoti Cycling Club on this achievement.

“Well done, we at Sapphire Coast Tourism cannot wait to support the upcoming Dafco MTB Challenge taking place on July 1,” she said.

Barry Walker, of Amanzimtoti Cycling Club, said: “It was so nice to see so many happy smiles on the faces of riders who loved riding the trails and enjoying some extra ones at the opening. Thanks to all who made the day possible.”
