Municipality’s Heritage Month celebrations

2018-09-26 06:00

AS South Africa celebrates Heritage Month, the Municipality’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Unit will showcase its services and products through various public engagements scheduled for September 29.

The Municipality will host the annual PRC Week, which is historically used to not only showcase our arts, sports and cultural services, but also provides an opportunity to promote social cohesion and unity within communities.

The week-long programme will kick off with a launch and clean up at Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve, where the Unit will unpack the various programmes planned and what they hope to achieve during this period.

The launch is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19, at 9 am.

Other exciting activities to look forward to during the week include the annual Ian Player-Magqubu Ntombela Lecture (September 26, ICC), Literacy Summit (September 27, ICC), Indians vs Blacks Conversation (September 27, ICC) eThekwini Television Industry Summit (September 28, Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre — UKZN), Family Day (September 28, Durban Beachfront) and many more programmes.

All programmes are free entry. Members of the media are invited to participate.
