Natalia maak skenking vir diere

DIE Afrikaanse Taal en Kultuur Vereniging (ATKV) Natalia Strandoord het verlede week kontant en goedere aan die Amanzimtoti Dierebeskermingsvereniging (DBV) geskenk.

“Ons het besluit om elke kwartaal ‘n donasie van R1 500 aan ‘n nie-winsgewende organisasie te maak. Elke ATKV bestuurspanlid kry ‘n kans om ‘n organisasie te kies wat hul wil ondersteun,” sê ATKV oorbestuurder, Elza-Lee Pretorius.

Suna van Eeden het besluit om die skenking aan die DBV te doen.

“Ek is baie lief vir diere. Ek het nie kinders nie en my diertjies is my kinders. 
Ek voel ook dat mense vir voedsel kan vra as hul honger is, maar ‘n dier is heeltemal afhanklik van mense vir kos en water, daarom het ek op die DBV besluit,” sê Van Eeden.

Sy sê dit is ATKV se hoop om ‘n verskil te maak in ‘n paar diertjies se lewe. Die ATKV het ook vier maande se verlore items, wat ‘n hoop komberse, handdoeke en klere insluit, aan die DBV geskenk.

“Ons is baie dankbaar vir die skenking, elke skenking help. Ons sal die komberse en handdoeke handig vir die diere kan gebruik en die ander items is te koop in ons liefdadigheidswinkel. 
Inkomste van die liefdadigheidswinkel word gebruik om ons veearts rekeninge te betaal,” sê DBV takbestuurder, Tracy Girling.
