2018-07-04 06:02

ATHLONE Park Neighbourhood Watch is hosting a Family Fun Day on June 30 at Athlone Park Primary School from 9 am to 4 pm. Entry fee is R10 for adults and R5 for children under 12.

This is an invitation to everyone to come and spend the day and enjoy the hospitality of the lovely people of Athlone Park.

There will be flea markets, jumping castles, candy floss, popcorn and entertainment.

Local Kingsway pupil Asanda Mngadi will be the MC for the day, and there will be performances from another Kingsway pupil, Sinenhlanhla (S’ne) Mnguni, and several song items. The Drummies from Platt Drive Primary will also perform.

The neighbourhood watch encourages the public to take part in the activities planned for the day as there are many prizes to be won.

The activities include best bonnet competition, a talent dhow (category 1, under 12, category 2, 13 to 18 and category 3, 18 and over), a fancy dress competition — “Come dressed to impress” (Little Miss, under 12, Little Mr, under 12, Miss, over 12 and Mrs, women) and the day will end with a tug-o-war for the men.
