Our precious jewel

2017-12-20 06:00

Bird-parks, boating, fishing and braais.

All are available under bright, sunny skies.

Sunrise and sunsets, to blow you away.

Rainbows to marvel, on your lucky day.

Walking, cycling, surfing and such,

And a guaranteed rest spot, if that’s a bit much.

Relax and enjoy most beautiful weather.

Watch whales breach, and birds of a feather.

Feel the sand underfoot, on a glittering beach.

For some, this pure pleasure, is way out of reach.

Dive the deep canyons, far from the shore,

or play in the pools... either way, you’ll want more.

Take the train by the seashore, hugging the coast.

Determine which villages appeal the most.

Saunter through byways and meander through shops,

or watch little fishes swim amongst rocks.

Monkeys abound, and swing from the trees.

They chase their own tails and do as they please.

Hop on a horse, sit tight in the saddle.

Take a ride to the beach and stop for a paddle.

Play tennis, golf or bowls, rugby, soccer or cricket,

or just spy little creatures, hidden in thicket.

Accommodation caters for all different needs.

Hotels, B&B’s or a caravan near reeds.

The people are waiting, to bid you “good-day”,

with smiles on their faces, there’s no need more to say.

The sapphire blue waters beckon and beg

that you just spend enjoyment, not “an arm and a leg”.

From Athlone Park, south, to the town of Clansthal,

be amazed what you’ll find, you’ll just “have a ball”.

Our Sapphire Coast Welcomes and eagerly awaits,

so give it some thought, and plan all those dates.

For our precious jewel,

is something to boast.

The beauty and splendour

of our Sapphire Coast.
