PROBUS, the social club for retired business people and people with similar interests, held its annual Christmas lunch on Friday, 27 November. President of the KZN club, Errol Theron welcomed members and looked back on a prosperous year with membership numbers steadily growing.

“It is important to be involved in groups like Probus. I meet so many elderly people who are lonely and wither away because they have no friends,” Councillor André Beetge said, addressing members.

He then wished them merry Christmas and wishes their children will visit and “have the good sense to leave before they overstay their welcome”.

“May you be blessed for the rest of your life and may the good Lord spare you for another year, so we can celebrate together again next year,” Beetge said.

Probus secretary, Sharon-Ann Theron thanked Beetge for assisting the club and senior citizens.
Angel Rose catered for the lunch and DJ Plumbing provided entertainment.

Errol thanked the sponsors who donated gifts towards this year’s lunch and in perfect Probus tradition, Santa Claus and his helpful elves handed out the gifts.
