NINE people were left injured on Monday afternoon following a rear-end collision between a taxi and a bakkie on the N2 northbound highway near the Moss Kolnick turn-off in Amanzimtoti.

Russel Meiring ER24 spokesperson said: “ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find a taxi and bakkie in the left-hand lane of the highway. Several people had already climbed out of the taxi and were found walking around on the scene.

“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that nine people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene.

“The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported by various services to nearby hospitals for further treatment,” said Meiring.
