HUMAN Rights Month is celebrated in South Africa in March, with Human Rights Day on March 21.

To commemorate the month, Amanzimtoti SAPS held a parade at the station on March 20.

Amanzimtoti communications officer Captain Charlene van der Spuy said: “As the commemoration provides the country with an opportunity to reflect on the progress made in the promotion and protection of our human rights, members of Amanzimtoti SAPS celebrate the month by taking time to know, understand, protect and respect the rights of victims of crime.

“While promoting and deepening a human rights culture in society.”
