VACANCIES exist for trainees (entry level constables) in KwaZulu-Natal.
Applicants must be South African citizens, between 18 and under 30 years of age.
Applicants should be in possession of a Grade 12 Senior Certificate or National Certificate (vocational at level four) safety in society (relevant to the field of policing preference).
They should be proficient in at least English and one other official language, have no previous criminal, departmental convictions, or pending cases. Applicants will have to allow his or her fingerprints to be taken and background enquiries to be made.
Interested individuals should be in possession of a valid driver’s license for at least a light motor vehicle, not have any tattoo marks which will be visible and irreconcilable with the objectives of the service.
They must complete a physical and medical examination and be declared fit, undergo a psychometric assessment, and fit the profile, be prepared to undergo such training as determined by the national commissioner and be prepared to serve anywhere in the republic.
Application forms will be available at all police stations in KwaZulu-Natal and must be completed in full with the following attachments and returned to your police station or recruitment centre:
• certified copy of ID;
• Grade 12 certificate;
• driver’s licence; and
• proof of residence. preferably from ward councillors.
SAPS recommends recruitment for the community from the community.
