Sizzling Sapphire summer holiday programme ahead

SAPPHIRE Coast Tourism (SCT) is looking forward to a bumper holiday season, with plenty of fun in the sun.

Don’t miss out on these upcoming events supported by them:

Winkle to Toti to Winkle race at Winklespruit Beach, December 16.

Watermelon Festival at Lords and Legends, December 16.

Christmas market at Sweet Waters Church, December 16.

Other events include:

Vodacom activation by Blue Alley Trading 210cc at Toti Main Beach –
December 9.

Vodacom activations by Blue Alley Trading 210cc at Toti Main Beach –
December 23, 24, 27 and 28.

Nu Metro 4DX activation by Thubalisanda Marketing at Toti Main Beach – to be confirmed - December 19 to 22 and DStv cartoon network roadshow by Wozani Africa Events at Toti Main beach on December 29.

The annual SCT holiday campaign will run from December 18 to 31 at Amanzimtoti Main Beach, Baggies Beach and Winklespruit Beach.

The Stranddiens team with the support of Awie Pienaar, SCT events liaison officer, will be entertaining beach goers at Amanzimtoti Main Beach.

This year’s theme is “family” and the idea is for young and old to have fun together participating in activities.

DJ Fluffy and DJ Chris will be in charge of music to get into swing of things and plenty giveaways will be handed out.

The popular Happy Drums will be offering free drumming lessons on selected days only at the different beaches, while Funland/Dolphin Bowl will set up mobile tenpin lane and will hand out vouchers on selected days.

Local businesses such as Lords and Legends, Thirsty Whale, Splash, Aliwal Dive Centre, Illovo Nursery, KFC, Pick n Pay Galleria, Debonairs Amanzimtoti,
Tiago’s and more have sponsored vouchers, give away prizes or will be doing promotions on the beach.

Connect with nature on these scheduled walks:

‘Kiddies Nature with Blessing Majoka from 8am to 10am. Cost is R30 per child, and includes a snack pack from Café Familia, on Wednesday, December 20.

Birding and Nature Walk with Blessing Majoka from 7am - 11am - no cost.

Meet at Café Familia afterwards for scones and refreshments (price of scones to be advised soon).

Saturday, December 23, both these events will take place at Burchells
Coucal Eco Trail, 1 Deeptank Road,
Illovo.

Don’t miss the annual switching on of the lights on the Christmas tree at the beach amphitheatre, a joint initiative between SCT and Durban South Business Forum.

The date and time of switching lights on is to be confirmed.

Learn how to save lives with CPR lessons at Toti Main Beach, arranged by PDA Health Pty Ltd, dates are to be confirmed.
