COMMEMORATING World Kindness Day earlier this month was one of the finalists for KZN Top Model SA, Wynett Murray, who recently teamed up with Gary Hawkins of Victory Kwikspar Warner Beach to collect items for donating to the Amanzimtoti SPCA.

Murray said that both she and Hawkins are animal lovers and followed his lead when he came up with the idea of hosting a collection.

Speaking on what Kindness Day means to her, Murray said: “In the larger spectrum, I believe acceptance and non-judgment contributes to kindness on a larger scale.

“Generosity and friendliness, however small the gesture might be, has a far bigger impact than we realise. Kindness comes from the heart and the key to kindness and giving is to never expect something in return.”

World Kindness Day is an annual international observance that takes place on November 13 and was introduced in 1998. This day aims to highlight the good deeds that are done within the community.

The day encourages people to look beyond the boundaries that make them different.
