THE Department of Statistics remains obligated to convey a census every 10 years in order to update the country's national profile.

In an effort to conform to government's cost saving initiative, a Community Large scale sample survey will instead be conducted for 2016. Information will include to pics such as demographics and education, living patterns, infrastructure and service delivery, immigration, fertility and mortality, etc.

“The random list sample for ward 97 contains 528 households and will be conducted by four fieldworkers during March until the end of April 2016. Different from previous surveys, the current will be paperless and questions as well as answers will be captured via tablet and electronically downloaded into the system using GPS coordinates,” Cllr Andre Beetge said.

“Fieldworkers can be recognised by their yellow cap, yellow translucent vest printed with the Statistics SA logo and the word ‘Fieldworker’, an ID card, introduction letter & an information pamphlet,” said Beetge.

Inquiries to Me Zamo Biyela on 031 304 0296 from Department of Statistics.

“Residents are requested to assist with correct information so as not to compromise area statistics into the national network,” said Beetge said. - Supplied.
