THE popular annual Winkle-Toti-Winkle Walk Run Surf Ski Race takes place on December 16 at 8am.

This race challenges surf skiers from Winklespruit to Toti and back, and has been for 35 years on the Day of Reconciliation.

There is also a short-course five-kilometre run and walk from Winklespruit to Warner Beach and back. The long course is a 12-kilometre run and a surf ski to Toti and back. “Entry is R100, which includes a hamburger and a Coo-ee cool drink. Under 14’s pay R50, which does not include the meal.

“There are loads of cash prizes for category winners and plenty of lucky draw prizes. It is bound to be a fun family event and there will be two jumping castles and deejays for entertainment,” said race spokesperson, Mark Barber.
