ZANELE Njapha grew up hidden in the pages of good books. From mystery to romance, she enjoyed the great escape they offered. As a young girl, she began to write children’s poetry and short stories, now, her first new book is launching at the end of June.

Doonheights local Njapha found her passion at a young age and even though she forgot about it at one point in her life it soon came back to her.

“I was the type of young girl who if ever she wanted to hear a story, she would write it herself.

I wouldn’t go to the library to look for a certain story that I wanted to hear about, I would just create my own,” said
Njapha.

Encouraged by her mother and school teachers at a young age, she excelled in her literature and began producing captivating stories.

Njapha is not only a seasoned Amanzimtoti-based author but, she is also a businesswoman and philanthropist at heart, being the chairperson of a non-profit organisation that focuses on improving academic results among primary and high school pupils.

She did her undergrad studies in Education and later on started her Master’s studies in Diplomacy and International Relations.

An eye for love, Njapha’s novel is a sizzling drama which involves an entanglement of romance, heartache and sheer comedy. “A few gems are neatly tucked away between the pages of this new novel.

“It will have you crying, laughing and down-right smiling,” said Njapha.

When asked about where the inspiration for the book came from, Njapha said: “I was reading an inspirational book and the author was speaking about how a lot of the times with your passion, it’s something that is effortless when you do and that’s how you know you are meant to be doing that.”

She also said that the first chapter came to her randomly one day and shortly after that she woke up from a nap and drafted the final chapter.

In the novel, you can expect to be surprised and on an emotional roller-coaster that will take you through comedy romance and loss. The main character, Amanda, will go through devastating and high moments according to the author.

Njapha is always looking to give back to her community, “I am always looking for people to work with if anyone would like to collaborate, I would be interested,” said Njapha.

The author will be giving away tickets to her upcoming launch and to stay up-to-date with the launch, follow her on her social media pages
