A total of 29 unlicensed firearms were seized with an assortment of 100 rounds of ammunition. These suspects were charged for being in possession of unlicensed firearms at the respective police stations and have appeared in various KZN magistrate’s courts.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended police for the arrests and recovery of firearms.
“We, as the South African Police Service, are committed to ensuring that we live in a safe and secure environment. These firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to determine if they were used in the commission of other crimes in the country,” she said. - Supplied.
