Ajax ready for the Telkom Cup away game

2015-10-01 06:00

Yesterday(Wednesday’s) friendly match against National First Division side Cape Town All Stars gave Ajax head coach Roger De Sa a clearer idea which players are at the right mode to step into the starting eleven whenever called upon.

The match was played at Philippi Stadium yesterday morning and overall plenty of positives arose, despite the 1-0 loss.

The first half saw the Urban Warriors maintain possession in large parts, while surging forward, but failed to capitalise on any of the chances.

The second half had much more substance to it as both sides played a more open game. Despite continuously attacking the All Stars defence, it was the NFD side who scored a goal against the run of play.

It was a much needed 90 minutes for the players who haven’t been getting much game-time as well as some of those who are returning from injuries.

Granwald Scott marshalled the midfield after returning from an injury which kept him on the side-lines for 3 weeks.
